- Advanced real-time capabilities make Domino 6 a true, three-tier architecture in which enterprise data is a first class participant in collaborative applications. Neither the end use of a Domino, not the Domino developer, need be concerned about whether data resides in Domino or elsewhere
- Advanced real-time enables you to extend the value of any and all Domino services to your other enterprise systems and data. For example, you can display Oracle data in a Domino view, access DB2 data from two different servers in the same Domino view. Perform a full-text search against multiple data repositireis at the same time and so on...
- Domino's Rapid Application Development and Deployment (RADD) capabilities are futher enhanced by transparent, relea-time access to unprecendented rnge of enterprise data and applications via easy to use, non-programmatic means. E.g., developers can create a Domino application's user interface as they have in the past. But instead of storing data in a Domino database, they can use Advanced Real-Time to point to external data sources.
- The ability to utilise Domino services across all your enterprise data means that you can store data in its original format, or in whatever application is most suitable. Data integrity is assured because you can leverate the data access rules of the native application. The need to move or copy data to support data integration initiatives can therfore be further reduced or eliminated
- Vitual access to data takes place via Lotus Connector technology, al all application level business logic and/or security is preserved. Thus current skills and investments in these applications are further leveraged
- Domino 6 mobile support, made possible by the Domino Every Place family of servers, enhances the value of enterprise data by making it accessible to your users via any client, Web Broswers, Lotus Notes, PDAs, even WAP enabled cellular phones
